  27. I don't the specifics of hard drive thermal calibration, but I can tell 
  28. you that keeping your hard drives cool is EXTREMELY important.  Aside 
  29. from detrimental effects to performance, an overheating drive will have a 
  30. much shorter lifespan than a comfortably cool drive.

  32. The best way to determine if a drive is too hot is to touch the case it's 
  33. in or touch the drive directly (if possible)...if it's only warm to the 
  34. touch, then you're safe...if it's hot, then you should be concerned...if
  35. your hand bursts into a ball of flame then you've got a problem!
